We have launched a YouTube channel where we will be posting recordings of our various events, including Theology on Tap Durham! Our first video is a talk on "Understanding our Fears" given by Fr. Eric Mah (our Chaplain!) on September 29th, 2020. During this talk, Fr. Eric spoke about the theological notion of fear; as well as various tools and strategies to deal with our fears, including clarifying our value set, accepting that suffering is inevitable but meaningful; recognizing that Christ offers us peace which is meant to persist in the midst of storms; and trusting ultimately in God alone, as opposed to anything else. Fr. Eric also addressed the importance of being grateful to God for His many graces and blessings, protecting the Sabbath Day, practicing mindfulness, ensuring goodwill in our relationship with God, distinguishing between spiritual consolation and spiritual desolation, refusing to dialogue with spiritual desolation, situating everything in God's call, and relinquishing our desire to control our lives.
